William P. "Will" Stonetreet II was a Northwestern High School senior and was also enrolled in the Integrated Technology Education Program (ITEP) at Ivy Tech Community College in Kokomo in Advanced Manufacturing. After graduation from Northwestern HS, Will had plans to attend Ivy Tech and further his education in Industrial Technology as an electrician.
"It isn't very often that I am able to share in my students success as they are happening. It is usually years after they graduate from Northwestern that I am able to see the successes of my students. Will was the exception. To see how much he grew as a person and student over the past few years is something that I will cherish forever. " ~Kurt Koetter, Northwestern High School Industrial Technology Teacher
During his time at Ivy Tech in the ITEP, Will also interned at Fiat Chrysler where he was respected for his work.
"Will’s Ivy Tech internship took him inside the FCA Transmission Plant where he was given opportunities to give input related to process improvements. 'The hands-on projects we tasked him with really brought him out of his shell and showed us how valuable a (machine equipment improvement) project like this could be. Going forward, this process improvement project will now be known as the Will Stonestreet Memorial Project with each final product having an emblem etched in Will’s memory." ~Rocky Lamb, FCA Personnel Development
"'Place your Stones early for the Street to your success. Have commitment, have confidence, have fortitude, have WILL.' An honor and pleasure to be your Mentor and friend" ~Dave Eckenboy, FCA Mentor
Will's parents, William and Andrea Stonetreet, have worked with Ivy Tech to establish scholarship criteria for the Will Stonestreet Technology Scholarship.
The scholarship eligibility criteria is as follows:
The scholarship will help students with tuition, fees and books.
Please join us in celebrating his life and honoring his parents' wish by making a memorial contribution to the Will Stonestreet Technology Scholarship.
The needs are many. We have learned that all gifts are important; when we combine our giving (at whatever level), we learn that we really do change lives.
Your gift would nearly cover a student's technology fee for one semester.
