Remember being a kid and seeing The Wizard of Oz for the first time. That’s what the students at Ivy Tech Community College-Sellersburg will feel like when their art club “Exit 9” travels to the Big Apple, New York City.
The buzz of the city, from subways to limos. The diverse cultures in fashion, art and music. The extreme economic differences in housing, restaurants and transportation. New York City is a melting pot of numerous nationalities from around the world converging inside an exciting city like no other.
For many of our students, it’s a trip of a lifetime, having rarely travelled beyond their local regions. They’ll earn real-world experiences that go beyond the classroom and their own hometowns. Their encounters will provide them with new insights making them more valuable candidates for their future employers.
Help our students take the financial bite out of going to the Big Apple. Your investment in supporting our students will be repaid in dividends beyond Wall Street. It will shape these students into experienced adults, inspired to go beyond our regional boundaries and explore new worlds of design, photography and the arts.
We are exposing our students to history, art, and theater!

You love planes, trains, and automobiles! Our trip to NYC will include traveling on all of these...some of our students have never flown or taken a train before. With a minimum donation of $250, you will receive two (2) 8x10 photos or four (4) 5x7 photos of New York City taken by Ivy Tech students.
The lights, sounds, and sights of NYC can be a lot to take in. We need some help with covering the cost of hotels so that our student can be rested for their NYC explorations. With a minimum donation of $500, you will receive an 11x17 matted and framed print of New York City taken by an Ivy Tech student.
97% of study abroad students found employment within 12 months of graduation, when only 49% of college graduates found employment in the same period. That means that students who travel were twice as likely to find a job! With a minimum donation of $1,000, you will receive a 30x40 stretched canvas print of New York City taken by an Ivy Tech student.
