Jeremy 'Big Jay' Davis Memorial Scholarship

Jeremy 'Big Jay' Davis Memorial Scholarship

Jeremy Leo Davis, 45, of Muncie, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on October 30, 2025.

Jeremy was born on May 24, 1980, to Jeff and Brenda Davis — their firstborn, and from the start, a natural protector. He grew into the role of big brother to Jason, Jacob, and Jamie with the same quiet steadiness that would define him throughout his life. He grew up in Yorktown, graduated from Yorktown High School in 1998.

After high school, Jeremy found his footing at Cast Metal Technologies, where he spent 25 years building something most people spend a lifetime chasing: a reputation. He worked his way up to Lead CMM Operator and Programmer — not by luck, but by showing up, every single day, and doing the job right. He was the kind of coworker you leaned on without thinking twice, because he never let anyone down.

In his memory, Jeremy's family has established a scholarship fund at Ivy Tech to support students pursuing careers in manufacturing, machining, and related technical fields — the kind of hands-on, skilled work Jeremy devoted his life to.

For those who knew Jeremy, this feels right. He was a man who showed up and did the work. Now, his legacy will help others do the same. Recipients must have completed at least 10 credit hours and be enrolled at the Muncie campus.

If you would like to make a donation by check, they can be sent to the address below. Please make a note that it should go towards the Jeremy 'Big Jay' Davis Memorial Scholarship.
