The Ivy Tech Community College family mourns the loss of President Emeritus, Gerald Lamkin.
Gerald began his career at Ivy Tech in 1967 as a part-time management and accounting instructor. Later, he became an administrator for the Anderson, Connersville, Marion, Muncie, and Richmond campuses and vice president for regional operations in 1979.
Gerald became president of Ivy Tech Community College in 1983. During his tenure, President Lamkin led the growth of Ivy Tech from a vocational and technical school to an institution with more than 100,000 students and 23 campuses at the time. A five-time recipient of the Sagamore of the Wabash, the highest honor an Indiana governor can bestow, Lamkin volunteered and served on numerous community boards and organizations.
Please join us in remembering President Emeritus Lamkin with a gift in his memory to the Gerald and Louise Lamkin Scholarship.
