Ivy Tech Lawrenceburg/Batesville - Giving Tuesday 2021

Ivy Tech Lawrenceburg | Batesville Food For Thought

Vital support for student success

Research and empirical evidence inform us that a significant part of our student population face at least some food insecurity on a regular basis while at the College. Many of them have families.

A free student healthy living support shop, Food for Thought, was launched with the help of grants from United Way and Circle of Ivy. This shop is on-site at the Riverfront Campus and easily accessible to students as one avenue for reducing the food insecurity burden so they can concentrate on their studies.

The shop is supplemented by Dearborn County Clearinghouse with nourishing food staples and our local Community Gardens supply as much fresh vegetables as they have available. While this is wonderful support, it still leaves a gap for necessary personal and household items that our students desperately need.

Since the launch this past summer, the shop has become wildly popular among the student population. Through careful tracking and inventory control, it has become clear that we will need more resources to fill the gap.

This Giving Tuesday, YOU can invest in the future of Lawrenceburg and Batesville students through a gift to Ivy Tech for Food for Thought. Your gift will provide vital supplies for our students while they focus on their education.
