Now more than ever, we are called upon to make a difference!
Over the last eight months, COVID 19 has stopped many Ivy Tech students in their tracks economically, preventing them from obtaining the necessary tools needed to succeed. The generosity of community members, businesses, faculty, staff, and alumni has allowed the Ivy Tech Foundation the opportunity to provide over 300 students with financial assistance at the Ivy Tech Valparaiso/Michigan City campus. Students used these funds for tuition, textbooks, access to technology, and software to complete their coursework.
“As a single mom, I am so thankful for my Ivy Tech education and the financial support received. Thank you to the donors who helped make this happen. It has changed my life! I could not have done it without you.”
“While many of life’s obstacles will and have gotten in the way, this scholarship support motivated me to keep striving to do well and never give up in the moments that seemed impossible. This proves there are people who want the next generation to excel and succeed!
"With the work closures of my two jobs, I’ve lost my income and have been trying to find a way to complete the final payment for this semester. Thank you for this emergency scholarship; I’m very grateful.”
Our students are truly grateful for the support they have received. Your donation to the “Meet the Need “project, a student assistance initiative, will provide additional financial services for students to ensure program enrollment and completion. These funds will bridge the financial gap confronting our students in their pursuit of achieving their academic and professional goals.
*To help nonprofits like Ivy Tech deal with this pandemic, the Coronavirus Aid Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES) allows taxpayers, who do not itemize their deductions on their taxes, the ability to list your contribution as an adjustment to income on your taxes. In short, with the CARES act, if you donate up to $300 in cash to a qualified organization, your adjusted gross income will be reduced up to $300 in 2020. More importantly, your investment will pay great rewards toward helping us in aiding our students during this difficult time at the Valparaiso/Michigan City campus. ANY support for OUR Ivy Tech students is INVALUABLE to help them achieve academic success!
Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts. We hope you and your loved ones are well and we look forward to seeing you soon!
Support from our Benefactors is critical to creating pathways to student success and a stronger Indiana!
