Flanner House Ivy Tech Scholarship
Harry D. Brickley, Jr., M.D., received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Indiana University-Bloomington in 1950 and his Doctorate of Medicine from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1953. After completing his surgery residency for one year at Passavant Hospital (Northwestern University) and five and a half years at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Dr. Brickley returned to Indiana as a surgeon in Indianapolis.
Later in his career, Dr. Brickley began a farm operation in communities surrounding his hometown of Bluffton, IN. In 2016, Dr. Brickley founded the Dr. Harry Brickley Farm Foundation, Inc. He has been a benefactor of Ivy Tech through scholarships and gifts of land to promote the agriculture program at Ivy Tech.
The Dr. Harry Brickley Flanner House Endowed Scholarship will be used to support scholarships for Flanner House recipients of services, who attend Ivy Tech Community College Indianapolis. Because, as part of its mission, Ivy Tech is committed to diversity, special consideration and preference will be given to underrepresented populations, including but not limited to financially challenged students and students with diverse cultural experiences.
