The Fresh Start 2020 program provides students with a financial hold the opportunity to return to Ivy Tech to complete their credential. Eligible students are those who are not currently attending Ivy Tech and are unable to re-enroll in classes because of debt accrued between summer 2008 and summer of 2017. Eligible students include those who owe $50-1,500 and have a 1.8 or above GPA.
Additionally, students who attended during that same time, and owe $50 or less, will have their debt automatically forgiven. These students will have holds removed and will be recalled from collections (if applicable). The debt collections hub will process waivers for all campuses, allowing these students to re-enroll at the College and access to their transcripts.
It is important to note, students who fall into any of these categories will be contacted statewide via email, direct mail, and text message, prompting them to fill out a form with basic contact information. This will alert the campus Business Office of the student’s interest and allow the campus to reach out to the student.
The Marion Campus has 93 eligible students who owe $50 or less and are not currently attending and are unable to re-enroll in classes because of the Debt.
