Our lives and many others were forever changed when Bill passed away from cancer on Christmas day of 2018. Bill received his Associate Degree from Ivy Tech and went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Indiana State University in 2017. Officer Meluch was proud to serve on the Lafayette Police Department, being sworn in on October 19, 2007. He was a member of the department Honor Guard, bicycle patrol and communit
y outreach program. We are honoring his memory by establishing the Officer William J. Meluch Memorial Scholarship at Ivy Tech Community College. This scholarship will assist students in the Criminal Justice Program who carry a 3.0 GPA, have completed at least 30 credit hours, and and are on track for graduation with an Associate’s Degree.
