The nursing program at Ivy Tech Evansville is considered by many to be one of the finest in the region. Our graduating classes have some of the highest pass rates on the nursing board exam, and our alumni are making significant advances in health care throughout our community. Ivy Tech Evansville’s reputation has been greatly strengthened as a result of this program.
Nannette Dahlgren aspired to be a registered nurse. She began studying nursing at Ivy Tech Evansville, while raising her three children as a single parent. Nannette's life was suddenly cut short in 2009 due to a blood clot after having pneumonia. She was only 44 years old.
Her parents, Tom and Diane Voss, created an annual scholarship in her memory. The Nannette Dahlgren Memorial Scholarship supports a single parent pursuing nursing at Ivy Tech Evansville. It also serves as a wonderful legacy to Nannette, who was lovingly referred to by her classmates as the "class mom". That's where we need you.
The Voss family and Ivy Tech Foundation are asking for your support to help more students wishing to become a nurse and help us pave the way for the next generation. A gift of any amount will make a difference in supporting our students as they prepare to care for our community's sick.
A gift of $25 could help a nursing student purchase a blood pressure cuff or temporal thermometer needed for class
A gift of $50 will help a nursing student purchase a stethoscope or shoes, as well as potentially cover the cost of the license fee
A gift of $100 will help a nursing student purchase their uniform scrubs, a lab and IV kit needed for class, or enter them into the Docucare program
A gift of $250 will help a nursing student purchase textbooks for class, cover their nursing exam fees, or the immunizations needed for the program.
