Thank you for being part of the 50 for 50 challenge to raise $6,500 to be matched by the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA). We did it! Local artist, Jim Merz, is now working on our awesome sculpture. Volunteers are also working on the 50 for 50 celebration to be held the week of September 8, 2019. Watch for more details as they unfold and plan to join the fun!
Chancellor Jerrilee Mosier has challenged EVERYONE who has been impacted by Ivy Tech in northeast Indiana over the last five decades to invest in the future success of Ivy Tech for the next 50 years. She said, “Think of it as giving $1 for every year Ivy Tech has been in our community.”
Who has been impacted and who is being challenged? Students, employees, alumni, retirees, donors. But also industry partners who hire our graduates, hospital patients who receive care from our nursing students, and customers who frequent alumni-owned businesses—just to name a few. “Ivy Tech’s impact on Fort Wayne and northeast Indiana has been strong for 50 years and will continue to be strong because of the support of our community partners,” said Chancellor Mosier.
We are asking all of our partners and friends to PLEASE make a gift of $50 or more to “50 for 50” and help spread the word! Consider being a 50 for 50 Ambassador; expand the challenge to be part of 50 for 50, and compete for some fun rewards. Thank YOU!
Together we will recognize our past and build a stronger future. As one of our inaugural donors, please stop by room 1410 in the Coliseum Campus to pick up a commemorative license plate frame and a window decal as a token of our appreciation!

Fort Wayne residents will soon be able to enjoy a new sculpture in celebration of Ivy Tech Community College’s 50 years in Fort Wayne if a recently launched crowdfunding campaign is successful. The CreatINg Places’ campaign is led by the Ivy Tech Foundation and sponsored by the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA). If the campaign reaches its $6,500 goal by May 10, the project will receive a matching grant of $6,500 from IHCDA.
The funding raised will cover the costs of creating an interactive sculpture by local artist Jim Merz, which will be a physical reminder of how Ivy Tech Fort Wayne is the bridge to higher education and beyond. The 10-foot-tall sculpture’s interior space echoes the Ivy Tech logo while also symbolizing a transition point from one stage to the next. The magnitude, simplicity, and boldness of this sculpture will capture the attention of pedestrians and motorists.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions.
