The Helping Hands Fund

The Helping Hands fund serves as emergency aid for student retention. 

Research Shows:

According to research $300 can be quite a barrier, one that could prevent a student from fulfilling their degree.  That $300 could be comprised of various obstacles and the Helping Hands Fund is designed to remove those obstacles to help students finish their education. 

Common Barriers to Obtaining an Education:

• Transportation-having to choose between gas for school or feeding their child.
• Hunger-Even if the student receives food assistance it is often not enough to feed their family.
• Necessary School Supplies-Some items like calculators and books can be costly.  A n issue that students have run into is being able to get to class but can not afford the book or necessary supplies.
